911 miracle
"mom, I've just called thre fire department - but everything is ok"
So that would be a call that no parent wants to recieve, EVER! It was Jess on the phone, as she was turning a lamp in her room off it somehow shorted out. She heard a "pop" and then looked to see some small flames and lots of smoke filling her room. The flames didn't last long, but the smoke and carbon monoxide filled the apartment quickly. She called 911, and fled the apartment (bent over running out the door - which I would have PAID money to see!)
I arrived shortly, just in time to talk to the Cap Hill fire chief about the incident. I have to tell you it really was a miracle! Which is what HE said in so many words. He had never in all of his career seen a cord burn like this one. The plug and the outlet were not affected. The whole cord was completely charred from the flames. He said, that he was surprised after looking at the cord and the way it burned that he didn't have to come into the apartment to resuscitate Jess. He could not explain why the cord just stopped burning at the plug becuase there were no surge protectors on the plug. He said he couldn't "explain it"
HA! I can, it was the "anatomy of a miracle!"
If you really think about it, the "anatomy of a miracle" is Jesus. Simple. Yet so profound, sometimes we don't see it. Think about it...His nature is so gracious, loving, passionate, full of mercy, loving, patient, (did I say loving?!) comforting He is a PROTECTOR and He is so full of joy when the things He has promised us actually happen in our life. Amazing.....
what is the anatomy of a miracle in YOUR life this week?
Have to go take my fav son tothe Spy museum for a special program - it promises to be an absolutely glorious day! The sun is out, it's spring...a perfect day to make Jesus famous!

I am so happy to be alive to tell the story too!! I am grateful to have a pastor, mother and friend who is sensitive to the voice of God like you are (and you have taught us to be as well). This isn't the first time you were awakened to pray for me or my siblings in a situation that could have taken our lives and we were miraculously ok and unharmed. :)
<3 you.
I am happy your daughter is all right and I believe in miracles. But here's an update: Jesus is the protector in ALL circumstances not just the happy ones. So even if your daughter had passed out or died, Jesus is still Jesus. And that is something you should never forget.
Though I agree with your statement, I think focusing and celebrating when God does protect a life isn't all too bad. What you said is an addition, versus an "issue." The church did a whole series called, "Navagating through Life's Storms," which speaks to exactly what you are saying. He is in everything, whether happy or sad (Ecc. says there's a time for everyhting). Even Paul, a man of God who wrote half if not more of the New Testiment, found himself caught in many circumstances. However, the red thread was not only God's goodness in all times, but celebrating what He has done and who he is in the midst of them. Sharing miracles stir up faith. This, my dear, is the infulence of this blog entry.
